Finals lead to Summer

Looking for a place to quiet down during finals: a place to pray and/or meditate?

Tulane's Religious Life Staff have coordinated open time in Rogers Memorial Chapel for silent reflection, prayer, and meditation at the following times:

Saturday, May 3, 1 PM to 5:00 PM  (Roman Catholic Host)
Sunday, May 4, 1 PM to 4:00 PM (Roman Catholic Host)
Monday, May 5, 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM (Lutheran host)
Tuesday, May 6, 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM (Lutheran Host)
Wednesday, May 7, 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM (Chi Alpha Host)

Also, as the Spring Semester wraps up, we look forward to a summer of continued relationship and growth. For those who will be in the area, we're planning to have weekly city-wide gatherings on Wednesday nights @ 8pm. These gatherings will be focused around prayer, but also consist of fun and sharing. Location is TBD.

Spring Banquet & Water Baptism!

To be baptized “in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit” is a sign that you totally accept and identify with Christ’s sacrifice on your behalf. You are proclaiming your dependence on Jesus and the end of your efforts to earn your way to heaven by being good enough.

Water Baptism is an outward symbol of the inward change that has occurred in your life since you surrendered your life to Jesus. It is also a public proclamation of your faith in Jesus, so that your friends and family can celebrate with you.

Chi Alpha will host a water baptism service this Friday, the 25th at 6pm at Tulane's outdoor pool at the Reily Center. Come celebrate with those who are "taking the plunge".

IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO BE WATER BAPTIZED, OR TALK TO SOMEONE MORE ABOUT WATER BAPTISM, SEND AN EMAIL TO XA@NOLAXA.COM or call 504.708.2339 BY THURSDAY AT 9PM.

**THIS EVENT WILL TAKE THE PLACE OF Tulane PRAYER**

Spring Banquet is our annual semi-formal night of celebrating the year, and honoring those amazing people called 'graduates' among us.

Next Wednesday, the 29th from 7-10pm at Copeland's Sweet Fire & Ice on Vets in Metairie. Tickets are $28 (includes entree, dessert, and drink, tax & tip), and must be purchased by Monday the 27th at noon. Email us at www.nolaxa.com or call us at 504.708.2339 to arrange for ticket pickup.

The World Missions Summit 2008

It’s not about me, but it is up to me! The World Missions Summit 2 is a gathering of college students, young adults, church leaders, and those who are abandoned to Jesus’ call to reach the lost around the world. Over 6000 participants are expected to attend TWMS2 that will be held in Cincinnati, Ohio, December 30, 2008 – January 1, 2009. At this historic meeting participants can expect to hear real time reports of what is happening around the world and needs that they can fulfill. TWMS2 speakers will deliver relevant and challenging teaching that will build a solid missiological base and have great impact. Meals will be shared alongside missionaries (who will become missionary mentors throughout TWMS2) where attendees will be inspired, hearing the heart of our missionaries and real missions stories. Attendees will participate in "Windows To The World" where their senses and emotions will be activated as they experience the smells, sounds, cultures, and challenges in the global regions of the world. Each will be exposed to the multiple facets of Assemblies of God missions works around the globe through engaging exhibits. At the conclusion of TWMS2 those in attendance will be challenged to do their part in expanding the Kingdom of God.

What's even more exciting, is that New Orleans has been chosen as the domestic focus city for the conference. Money will be raised, and workers will be recruited to build Chi Alpha and local churches in the Big Easy. Make your plans to come represent New Orleans, and get ready to be challenged in life-altering ways.
