Perspectives on Islam - Friday

::We have shifted Perspectives to NOON rather than 11am::
we will still be at Tulane's Wall Residence-different Bat-time, same Bat-channel, same Bat-day

This week, we will explore the Islamic Perspective:
come share your knowledge and experiences
come learn about something you've never known
ask questions, share answers and insights, rock on

So, we say everyone is invited. When it comes to Perspectives, we really mean: We want different perspectives present! If you think you will disagree with us, you are the most welcome of all!

See you there! map here

Also, more house-gutting is around the corner! If you are interested in joining us next Saturday, the 10th for a day of action, please let us know: xa@nolaxa.com or 504.324.9880

Perspectives Begins this Week

But first, don't forget to Gather Tuesday Night at the Ignatius Chapel for 7pm (Loyola's Bobet Hall)

Perspectives is a chance to explore different points of view from around the world. We will explore world religions (Islam, Mormonism, Hinduism, Buddhism), and important contemporary issues (Sex, Evolution). These learning parties will be highly interactional while presenting lots of good information (What do Mormons believe? How do Hindus practice their religion? What are the historical roots of Islam? etc...), and providing an opportunity to learn from other religions and religious groups, as well as comparing and contrasting them with Christianity.

Perspectives will meet for the next 6 Fridays in Wall Residential College at Tulane - 11am.
This week we will explore Sex and the Christian discipline of Chastity:

Is sex really all that important?
Who cares who I have sex with?
Sex is natural, so why do we need to restrain it?

Come to discuss these questions and more. It's bound to be a rollicking time!

The Uprising '06-'07

Some sweet news for New Orleans: The Uprising will be hosted in New Orleans this December/January!! We'll be at the Embassy Suites; pretty awesome!

What is the Uprising, you ask? The Uprising is the annual regional conference, renewal, whatever you want to call it for Chi Alpha. Our region = Louisiana, Mississippi, Arkansas, Southern Missouri, and Tennessee.
On average, there are about 400 people present for an amazing God-encounter. The name is new from 04/05 and stands for a generation of young people rising up to grab ahold of God and their destiny to transform the world through the life and message of Jesus Christ.
For those of you who were at The World Missions Summitt this past winter, the Uprising is kind of a regional version of that international conference, but the focus is wider than just missions.

There will be more info to come over the next several months, but I thought you might like to know the good news early :)
