Satellite Groups

Chi Alpha New Orleans does a lot of stuff: pretty much all of it revolving around our core values: faith, community, and action...well, I guess you'd have to say that 'fun' is a non-official core value, but I think that's more of a product of everything else we do, not so much the stated goal...

Ok, so what's a Satellite Group, right?

Well, to build a community, you've got to know each other, and not just know info about each other: names, majors, hometowns, blah blah blah. Getting to know each other requires spending time together, and purposefully sharing yourself. That's what Satellites are all about.

We get together about 4-12 people, and meet up weekly, often in residence halls, and build community together. We laugh, and talk about the week; we pray, and sometimes get stuff 'off our chests'; we discuss the Bible and what it might have to do with the mess and hum-drum of life; we become friends, real friends. It's sometimes deep, and sometimes silly. Other times, it's very spiritual, and then it might be purely practical.

Satellites are about being together, and walking along the rode of life together, finding God along the way. If you want to know Chi Alpha, a Satellite may be the best place to start.
